Video Games

Finished Yotei last night. Outstanding story, excellent gameplay mechanics.

There were a couple of thing that I didn't like such as the amount of different weapons. Certainly didn't need 5 different melee weapons. I only used three and could have dropped that to two. I never once used a gun, unless it was required for a scene.

The cut scenes. There are a ton of them and no option to speed them up.

Also, the music aspect. It just seemed gimmicky, and not relevant to gameplay what-so-ever.

PSA: All of these were originally in shit quality because I think they pre-date YouTube (or were very very early low quality). You can find them all here re-created from DVD in glorious 480p:

Great just wasted 10 mins at work.

I worded that question poorly but your answer was still informative. So thanks

I was specifically asking about the music.

I was referring to the shamisen that the main character carries around. You're forced to "learn" songs that if played, will have you running all over the map to find hidden locations (locations that can be found by visiting the cartographer).

Nintendo is about to shit out a New Horizons update for Switch 2 but I'm too much of an introvert to go back to my town after I abandoned them after the pandemic. lol

This is great if you’re a Mortal Kombat kid like me

I bet if if you put the amount of hours in sunk into a game side by side it would go

Halo 2
Goldeneye
Mortal Kombat II (on Genesis!)

Literally years of the early 90s we were playing MKII every goddamn day. Zelda was a hobby… Mortal Kombat was my day job hahah.

Anybody else watching the LoL Worlds 25 Final?

The production value of these events is too much. Heh.

Yooooo... Steam is making a standalone VR headset to replace the INDEX.

Great specs I bet it will be expensive though! Might be time to jettison the Meta Quest 3.

Well, since I just can't find a game that I want to play, I've started a replay of Horizon Zero Dawn. Damn, what a great game this is. Quite a bit better than the sequel in my opinion. Also, I'm now playing on a PS5 and it's just beautiful.
Agreed, but I also loved a lot of the environmental story beats in Forbidden West. I'm optimistic a lot of the "issues" I had with Forbidden West were just kind of things they needed to get through in order to bridge to the end of the story. Middle game syndrome.

Not only that they announced this bad boy. Xbox is officially dead and they coming for playstation. GabeCube is the future!
Waiting to see what the performance is like on this one. I think my RX4070 laptop might have about the equivalent amount of power. I can certainly run Half-Life Alyx really well already.

DRAM prices are up 171% so it's expected to be coming in hot on price.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Forbidden West, I just forgot how truly fantastic ZD was/is.
