The Official Parenting Thread

The wrangling of prom details is turning into a nightmare. Drama all around and I don’t even have a daughter. Who is going with who, where is everyone taking pictures, who is coming on the party bus, never mind how is everyone paying for all this. Here is part of the prom contract.

3:45pm is such a random time for a payment cutoff.

My son’s volleyball team went undefeated this year. Not only that, they never lost a single set. Yesterday they beat local powerhouse Long Beach Poly in straight sets to win their league. My kid had a great game. Sports has been an amazing source of positive mental health and development for my kids.

Our main TV downstairs is a Google TV so I’m pretty sure you need the remote. The outdoor TV and upstairs TV are both on Roku and I have those on my phone.
Our main TV is a Google TV and there's an app just like Roku has. Just search for "Google TV" on your phone's app store. Lower right will say "Connect TV" and as long as you're on the same network it should find the TV.

I literally can't even find my remote half the time... my kid is always moving it.

sure, you can get the app on your phone but first you have to subscribe to Spectrum at a monthly rate for the app and there are separate fees for the up/down channel option. and an additional premium for volume.

there are also unskippable ads every time you push a button and a blackout period of 15 minutes if you change channels too frequently in a short period of time.

Two weeks before school gets out, a fellow dad at the bus stop this morning asked if I has started to consider what we'd do for the kids summer camps this year.

Oh buddy, you're fucked.

Ours filled up by January and I've even already paid it off.

My kid is doing 6 different camps this summer. Coordinating it with other parents so that he would be with friends/kids he knows at each one was real fun. Several grand for the summer. Oh well, a lot better than paying for private school year round (we're gonna ride the public schools for as long as possible, hopefully forever).

Both of my deadbeat sons are telling me they can’t get a job because I’m taking them to Asia for three weeks in June. Nevermind that they are barely looking for one.

Send ur kids here and pay for my kids to watch them. Or vice versa. Either way you pay for food.
