The Disney+ Thread (streaming begins 11/12/19)

I love it when my interests intersect. The Ringer puts out some great stuff, and this is some of their best IMO.

I posted this on the Facebook timeline of a friend that works at Galaxy's Edge (and literally posts about BY every 6 seconds these days) and she completely lost her shit, lol.

I'm starting to wonder if there will be any crossover with Episode 9/Mandalorian with this character now (since they were so sneaky with it)...

The app fucking sucks.

Why doesn't it automatically go to the next episode on a show?

Why when I open it does it flash to the page I was on when I closed it out to then glitch back to the main screen?

Why are all the icons on the main page so small? I can't read that shit.

Why doesn't it realize I finished something once the credits roll so that they clear from my "continue watching" or so that when I click on the giant fucking banner for the new Mando episode it actually takes me to that episode instead of mid way through the credits of the last one?

Sounds like whatever device you are using hasn’t gotten the latest app updates.

The Roku app has none of these problems and goes directly to the next episode.

Fire TV app just sounds janky.

I haven't watched much on it but my only complaint with the Roku app is that it's kind of slow/laggy when scrolling through the shows/menus.

Amazon's hardware sucks ass. Not surprised that apps on that platform suck too.

Does it? I've never really had a problem with any apps and usually like the UI and functionality of them. I've always stuck with the Amazon products because of that. The Roku has never really been my favorite.

I always had problems with the apps built in to Samsung TV's; Prime streaming would crash whenever I started a UHD program, Netflix would crash and restart every time I started it up, etc.

All apps kick ass on my Roku Premiere. Hulu's menu is a little slow but that's it. Disney+ is fine.

We have a periodic problem with HBOGO on our (I want to say Samsung) TV where the app will either crash out entirely or zoom in suddenly to a tiny postage stamp of the screen, and the only way to get out of it is to reboot the app. It seems to happen the most with Westworld (almost every episode at least once each time we try to watch it), but has happened once or twice with other shows.

No Disney+ in our house (yet?) but I am glad to hear they are working through the UI issues everyone complained about at launch.

The tablets I have for my kids have the worst UI I have ever seen in child mode. I don't mind my kindle, but there are super odd choices on battery warning. Basically, my experience with Amazon hardware is that their UI designers suck. That and their app is terrible.

edit: I also really like my roku. Never had any issues with it, apps are always up to date, and the UI is fine.
