The Disney+ Thread (streaming begins 11/12/19)

I've been reading his book and man that dude got lucky over and over again early in his career.

I actually met him for like ... 0.3 seconds once, lol. When he became CEO he literally tried to shake every employee's hand in the entire company.

Thoughts and prayers to you Lutter

(plus if you look at the Disney Board of Director's site there's this little tidbit:

... Iger actually "left his role" to be an even higher up role. Total Eisner move. He'll be at the company till at least the end of 2021.)

How about the actress in the part of Mulan being a shill for the Chinese government and supporting Hong Kong police during the protests earlier this year?

That whole project felt gross to me after that honestly.

Don't worry about them running out of material to make live-action remakes... we're now testing the waters of live-action prequels to remakes of animated classics!

Should I just go ahead and start a Beauty and the Beast Cinematic Universe thread?

Disney is early releasing Pixar’s ‘Onward’ onto Disney+ (amongst a bunch of other stuff) on April 3rd.

So my wife and I have been rewatching the “classics” and I’d never seen “The Reluctant Dragon”. If you’re interested at all in animation it’s a fun feature length commercial (lol, it is!) for Disney animation at the time (just after Pinocchio’s release) that has previews for their upcoming movies (namely Bambi and Dumbo) in the form of Robert Benchley (who I honestly only remember from Hitchcock’s ‘Foreign Coorespondant’) sneaking into different departments (IE: artists, sound, ink and paint, motion plane photography, etc...) at Disney before meeting with Walt Disney to pitch an idea.

Really neat looks inside the old Disney studios. I was actually surprised they highlighted ink and paint, who was made up almost entirely of women at the time (who are never credited in the films). Smoking, visible sculptures with tits, and all the classic Disney Legends. 90% live action. I had no idea.

I think any fan of classic films of the 40s would enjoy. Check it out. They spent some money on it at the time because about halfway through it switches to rather beautiful looking Technicolor from black and white.

Also: Dumbo is WAY more racist than I remembered. I’m legit surprised they haven’t chopped that thing up.

Thought this was a bit half-assed/treading old ground/will this do?
