Nu Cable but for bands. Substack post posits that we are headed back to the era of web memberships while Streaming will continue to lose money and eventually participation. On some level I get it and already acquire a lot from Bandcamp when I can.
The supposition in the post checks out considering how many independent artists I know prefer Substack as a means of communication with options for premium content. I hadn’t considered Discord because no one I follow uses it.

Not bad (even though I've never heard the Sabrina Carpenter version). He's got the SA Martinez bob/bounce thing down.
Honestly it was the I’m With Her cover that got me to listen to Sabrina in the first place. It’s a great tune.

That Femmes performance is fucking amazing.
Also love that Cracker album. A real Nowheresville, USA 90s time capsule.
The original has a killer bassline and a choppy Chic-style guitar part so it’s kind of an easy flip to ska.

Yeah that one, Bjork, and PJ Harvey are the best of the bunch.
TMBG, Cracker, Afghan Whigs, and Bad Religion are the next tier down.
The Matthew Sweet performance would be pretty meh except for being saved by Richard Lloyd's guitar work.
