Let's All Go to the Movies

Another thought on this Ghostbusters pic: If this movie doesn't have Louis Tully in it I'm calling it a failure and total waste of time. Don't bullshit me that Moranis didn't have time to do it... they had an entire year of delay to film something because of the COVID delay and Moranis is back to acting (with the upcoming 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' reboot/sequel).

Heck he banged Anne Potts in the last movie and became a Ghostbuster. I think the mom is going to turn out to be his daughter from that relationship.

My wife started to rewatch What Dreams May Come while I was listening to a podcast and finished up some computer work. I looked up at some point and saw Williams in some painting and asked her what she was watching.

“What Dreams May Come. I loved this movie when I watched it forever ago.”

Set the computer down, took a couple bong hits, cracked a beer and settled in. What an amazingly terrible movie.

Shit&$!* streaming on showtime was an enjoyable watch last night though. College coming of age story that I found myself pretty invested in by the end.

Also, Temple of Doom is really bad for at least the first half.
I've always equated the Indy trilogy with the first 3 Mario Bros.

#1- Whoa, this is awesome and a lot of fun, magic flutes, nazis, crazy turtles, biblical lore!
#2- Wait, what the fuck? This is weird! Magic portals, monkey brains, ripping out hearts, wtf? Fun, though.
#3- Shit yeah, pull out all the stops! Fox tails, Sean Connery, bear suits, nazis and biblical lore!

I watched Temple not that long ago and was surprised at how bad the first half (maybe first 2/3?) of that movie is. It’s basically just a stream of cheap, lazy, stereotypical culture jokes broken up by Kate Capshaw screaming her head off at every single thing they come across.
Once in the temple, it’s great but until, I thought it was basically unwatchable.
Last Crusade is great and I grade it fairly close to Raiders.

I am just not that high on IJ3 even though I enjoyed it
Might be because that was the first one I saw but I love it. I might rank it higher than Raiders on a good day just because I love how much humor Sean Connery brings to it. It's definitely the funniest of those movies for sure and I know that's divisive for some people.

That said I rank Temple of Doom a whole helluva lot higher than I did as a teenager. That one has really grown on me over the years. It's so dark. I can't believe Paramount even allowed it to be so dark at the time.
