Travel- the trials and tribulations

Iceland busses will do tap to pay but you need a different card per rider so I would tap my phone for me and a card for my mom.
Same here, and also in Taiwan. When we had an overnight in Taipei their train system only accepted Visa cards so we ended up having to buy tokens for the kid and I since my wife and I have a shared Visa account even though our cards has different numbers.

In Japan we just get an IC card (Suica, Passmo, etc.) per person and next year will do the same in Taiwan.

Fear and I are in DC this week to observe a trial for which my late father was a relator in a Federal False Claims case with an associated retaliation claim. My mom is now the relator (plaintiff on behalf of the US Govt). We have been sight seeing around the capitol and checking out a few restaurants when not in court.
The fact that the case was accepted by DOJ and the relevant agency is huge and really impressive - good luck!
