Pastries, baked goods, and donuts thread

Making up a batch of Mindy Segal’s peanut butter and jelly thumbprints. Her recipe calls for making strawberry lambic jam which sounds heavenly but I have so much jam in my house. Did one tray with 3F Gueueze jam we picked up at the source in 2019 and one tray with orange marmalade we got from a grove in Florida we like to order oranges from.

I would have liked these a little more brown on the bottoms but the jam was running out. Pulled the marmalade ones earlier. This is a way fussier recipe than I usually make for Thumbprints but the end cookies are way better and worth the effort.

I was alerted by a Reddit post yesterday that there is an Italian bakery not too far from Burger Antics (or that’s how I justified it) that has gorgeous looking pepperoni bread. It’s just pepperoni in an Italian load but goddam does it tick that WV/Western PA pepperoni roll box that pizza puffs just do not. We just sliced it up with a little butter. I am in heaven.

Is that a one time use container or can you throw it in the fridge and use the rest later?
I think we are going to vacuum seal and freeze them for future enjoyment just because the batter won’t stay good that long. That being said, the container is hard plastic and I am pretty sure funnel cake is just fried pancake batter so I will totally use the funnel more than once.
