Schoolbus after schoolbus was pulling up and dropping off/picking up.
There are tons of gift shops this side of the street but I was the only idiot taking pictures of this. The contrast was wild.

Not too far from there, you will find the 3 buildings - one basically due west and the other two to the southeast - where democracy died.
Have not actually been past the Supreme Court all week but have walked past the National Archives several times. The librarians are still cool.

I am sure PCH or Blue Ridge Oarkway has some good ones, but Sideling Hill on I-68 in Maryland is a top rest stop.

For those of you who have been following along on our little legal trip, the jury came back half an hour ago. Liable on fraud, not liable on retaliation. Anyone been to Taiwan? I know BigFrank is headed there soon so I’m curious to hear his thoughts. We enjoyed the brief taste we had with an overnight in Taoyuan last year on the way back from Hanoi, so we’re in early planning for next February. Hooray for nonstop Starlux flights and Alaska miles.

Hey BigFrank, what’s your plan for Taiwan? We just booked our trip for next February. I think our plan at the moment is Taipei (with day trips outside the city), Tainan, Kaohsiung and Sun Moon Lake.

We got hit by a typhoon in Kyoto during our honeymoon back in 2006.Heading on my Hong Kong / Japan trip in a week.

I will be there for a Rotary Club convention. I have obligations in Taipei for several of the days and will likely sign up for more.
Planning on visiting Jioufen and the Yehliu Geopark. Also plan to spend a day in Taichung. Apart from it will mostly be running around Taipei. My kids will be free to roam. If they want get up early and take a high speed to the south, they are welcome to do so. I think mostly they just want to hit night markets.
