The Tattoo Thread

butterstinker?
Her actual name is Esther Garcia and her old studio was called Butterfat Studios. Dunno how she picked her IG handle though!

And yes, her work is amazing. She does lots of black work, too. Not my style at all but it’s hard to argue with her skill.

The woman who did my leg went by Solokill and I was very relieved that I could use her given name, Robin. I mean, is it Ms. Solokill? Ms. Kill? Solo? Talk about anxiety.

As someone who hadn’t had a tattoo in 30 years I will say after 4 hours today I’m likely done forever.

Lost my constant companion two days after Christmas. Pretty much the best friend I ever had or will have so decided to honor him. Don’t judge me too harshly this is literally from 30 minutes ago and right before it was getting bandaged over. Dead ringer for my pooch. I may be an asshole on the internet but I am a huge dog fan and this guy was one of the best.

RIP

Excited to see it after the bleeding and swelling subside and the redness gets out of the whites and tans some.

Cheers

Can already tell it's a great tattoo though. Wonderful tribute.

I’d like to get another but I need to settle on where to go and what to get. Part of my problem is my art history degree leads me to following these artists with year long waitlists for absolute works of art. It started because one inks next to a local watering hole.
Just fucking majestical. But I wouldn’t know where to begin. And yes, I know something like that is $$$

Yeah I had to wait a while for the one I picked to get their books open again. Seems like anyone worth working with is highly in demand.

I also don't wanna think about what my wallet is going to look like between now and July.

Tax season is huge for tattoo artists too, so right now is like the calm before the storm, but once those refunds hit accounts then it's off to the races.

This is only reason I was able to get in for my dogs portrait. Originally appt was for May but someone doing a large piece canceled until they get their tax money so I got squeezed in. Place I got mine is currently scheduling for October now.

I'm pretty sure my dude gave me his Sunday day off as it was just he and I in the shop all day. Messaged him Friday, did a video chat Saturday AM while I was hungover in a Milwaukee hotel room, and then in to the shop on Sunday.
