US - West The (not Portland) Oregon Thread

Oh no. Wolf Tree is easily one of the worst breweries in Oregon. Couldn’t even get half way through a taster flight there.
My hope with this situation is that the Wolf Tree people just let the AA head brewer continue doing his thing.

b2 Taphouse & Brewery, my regular spot for the last 11 years and "third space" if you will, officially sold and the new owners took over on Monday. I went yesterday, and I'm very concerned I'm going to lose my sanctuary.

Some "fun" facts I learned on my visit yesterday:
- One of the new owners didn't know what IPA is, and the other didn't know what gin is. But supposedly they've owned a bar or bars in the past?
- They asked the previous owner why he didn't have Budweiser on tap.
- They are expanding their lottery room (b2 has had 3-4 machines for about a year or so now, which IMO is 3-4 too many)
- b2 had been the biggest seller of Russian River in Salem, but their allocations will now be going to The Yard, which is a food truck pod with a bar in East Salem. That also means no more PtY after getting Salem's only keg for the last 3 years.
- changed their hours & will now be open until 11pm every day, which I'm sure will piss off all their current bartenders.

There will also be no more house beers as they were brewed at Three Creeks, which has closed. That would've happened regardless of ownership and frankly was no big loss.

I was there during lunch and the brewery & distributor reps were swarming. I'm sure they're going to end up with a bunch of shit beers since the new owners clearly know nothing about beer. The previous b2 owner usually had some bs Columbia beers on, but that was only because he was playing the game to get the allocated stuff. The only ray of hope is the current manager may stay on to run operations (new owners asked her to), so she may be able to keep the taplist somewhat respectable, at least for a while. I offered to be an unpaid taplist consultant, and I was 100% serious.

My speculation though is that b2 will just be another shitty lottery bar with a bunch of crappy draught offerings within the next six months or so. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyone going to the De Garde/3F event on Thursday? We're going to leave here early and hoping to make it around 3 or 4pm or so.

Good thing 10 Barrel was "saved" from greedy, evil InBev by *checks notes* a greedy, evil weed corporation!

These chuckledicks are still at it. And to be clear, I'm talking about the neo-prohibitionists, not the brewer & cider maker.

I am voting for prohibition until this guy shaves his head

An established, well-known brewery is finally opening a location in Salem.

And it's fucking Rogue
