i didn’t get the appeal. Who wants a smoothie that ends in bitter mineral water? Just make a real smoothie and dump vodka in it. That’s so much better.
My takeaway from Smooj was that it would have been better with no carb.
definitely. The seltzer aspect was the off-putting part for me. It was like mixing a smoothie with seltzer. It made no sense.

My wife bought a 4-pack of hard seltzer smoothies last time we were in Houston and left them in a bag in the cupboard (given that she's been preggers and couldn't drink them). I totally didn't even realize they were in there.
This weekend at about 2am I hear:
Oh the humanity, lol. Luckily it was a reusable bag so I was just able to chuck it and it was mostly contained in there.

Uh oh, I've discovered recently that I really like Polish pilsners. Am I becoming the cliche old beer nerd that's been in the hobby too long?

Getting the 1L pour was the right call too.
I had another one out in Portland I also really liked. I'm on board with the style.
It doesn’t cost more to order halfs (or in this case thirds) and the 1L is too heavy for my weak shoulders.
I am truly spoiled having that place so close.Back to smoothie drinks. I can’t do one of the two Smooj flavors because pineapple juice, but I drink the fuck out of the non-pineapple smoothie meads. They are lightly carbed and I think of them as no different as a blended cocktail. Great on a patio on a hot day. They will fade out when people get sick of brunch, mimosas and tiki drinks. Which might be never.

Otherlands in Bellingham makes a really solid Polish pilsner if you're ever out in the PNW.
You mean like Tyskie and Zubrowka or American made Polish style?
