I drank about half a can and told my BIL he didn't have to finish it. After living in Morocco with steady access to macro lagers and SNPA available maybe once or twice a year his response was "Oh, I don't like it, but I didn't say I wouldn't drink it."

The absurdity of some of these seltzers calling themselves "seltzers".
The obsession with putting those beers into bootleg glassware that sells for $40/glass because it has a The Ninja Turtles throwing fighting hops at Goku who is countering with a Kamehameha in the shape of yet another hop on Facebook beer boards is just... too much. lol.
Once again: they sell frozen strawberry daquiris and mudslides at Chilis for like $3. They taste better. You can get potato skins on the side. And you don't need to pretend to like craft beer to boot.

Hard Smoothie though. Like, Jessica Simpson is sober now, but I think someone would have paid her $$$ to redo the whole “Chicken of the Sea? Is it chicken or fish?” thing again only “Hard smoothie? Is it hard or is it smooth?” You know what? Just get Busy Phillips to do it. Her character on Girls 5 Eva is parody Jessica Simpson anyway.

Absolutely not mad at this. First, they appear to be made by a real artisan; it's not just some mass-produced glass with an IP-ripoff screenprint. Second, I could not care less who is dumb enough to spend $600 on this thing, but I guess that's the whole part of the free market. A fool and his money...

This time they're talking about Ubergeek, which took over the space Moustache had out in Riverhead.
As far as the newish ones I've been to, I think I'd describe just about all of them as "fine." No regrets getting a couple beers at the bar and either bullshitting with the bartender or sitting outside and enjoying them.
Nothing immediately screams to be "have to go back and get beers/crowlers to go" though.
Moustache made a very nice lager that just happened to be called Sams as it Ever Was but I have not seen it since.
Darling is one that I would like to check out.

What are the most obvious ways that a brewery would not be vegan? Lactose certainly, I guess using isinglass as a clarifying agent? Anything else, other than obviously stupid shit like putting pre-made food in the boil?
I went to Darling when it was still the Patchogue Beer Project (I think that's what it was called). At that point they had some sort of relationship with the owner of Port Jeff Brewing. Then one day they up and rebranded as Darling. Guess that relationship probably changed.
Enjoyed what I had when it was PBP, assuming it's still the same people behind the scenes, I'd say it's worth checking out. Then go around the block to the Great South Bar for some cocktails.
The ones I saw people mentioning in that back in forth are things like lactose, any type of fining agent, even gelatin, and also honey.
