Streaming is the hotness.

I watched EO, a LurchingBeast pick from 2022, through my library.

Man. I really liked it. It beautifully captures how bewildering the human world must be for a domesticated animal.

It's melancholy, as nearly any movie with an animal navigating the human world is going to be for me. It acknowledges that, despite our best efforts, we treat a lot of animals like shit. The abuse scene was horrific, as was the bleak ending, and I had to sit in silence for a few minutes afterward.

I don't know what I'm supposed to pick up from the donkey (Eo), but the myriad scenes focusing on his eyes suggest he's just taking it all in. His view of the world has an alien, cataract-y gauze to it. But it isn't just a projection onto the world. Even the human scenes are totally bizarre at times, making you question what the real version is.

Awesome stuff. I need to eat less meat.

Forgot I still have Peacock because of the Olympics. I guess I'll keep that going for TED since that's starting this week. That was probably their plan. ha.
