Saturday was an excellent time. So many good meads between the past classics, interesting blends, special treatments just for the party, and a sneak peek at a couple upcoming members only releases. Highlights for me included Dead Men Tell No Tales (bourbon barrel aged dark berry mead made with meadowfoam honey), the blend of Endless Blueberry Vanilla and BA French Toast, and the BA Endless Ritual w/ Vanilla. Bonus points for getting weird with Endless Apple Pie blended with vanilla ice cream and Endless Cherry Pie conditioned on jelly donuts.
And a special shout out to Thirst Trappist for letting me hang with his crew for the day. I was not prepared for the quantity or quality of the bottles being brought out

Schramm’s is doing a cellar sale if anyone is short on meads
Ray’s Lemon Curd ice cream with a Schramm’s Blackberry center from today’s event. Really lovely to spend some time in the production facility with Ken before driving home and the combo was lovely.
20lbs of Tupelo honey, 20lbs of thawed and macerated red and black currants, and a bunch of happy yeast. Hopefully I've got something tasty in a few months.
For sure. I'll be degassing 2x day for the first week and staggering my additions of Ferm Aid O.
10 year old bottle. Stored upright to keep the cork from breaking down in the mead. Goddamn. Really lovely black currant mead. This is why I buy and store Polish meads whenever I can.

I’ll add this here. This event was in the works before Ken’s latest health scare and I actually already had the date saved in my calendar. While 62-ish days of sales like Friday is quite the stretch goal to get Ken to retire by 10/4 I think they can absolutely have some very good days and get to a more comfortable place. Hope to see some of you in Ferndale this fall.

Many, many years ago OceanOfMead sent this to me for my daughter's 18th birthday. Well, a few weeks ago she had it. So last night we opened it as a family. Absolutely exquisite stuff. Sweet, thick, acidic, and bursting with boysenberry. Thanks again.
Long time no mead post. Went to two new meadery locations for me. Brimming Horn Seaford - had their Scorched Meadows. Lovely mead. I love their smoky offerings.
Then today we are at the new Charm City location co- located with Peabody Brewing. Great move and great space for them. Loving the meads they are offering now. The raspberry coconut I got today is crisp and refreshing at 5%.
