Forgot to take a photo of the pastries I actually bought from Atrevete but their raspberry pistachio is my favorite. The croque madame hanging out in the back of the pic was also excellent.

These are from Del Sur. Each in order was better than the one before and all were excellent. In my hand is half of a linguisa croissant topped with chives and cured egg yolk. The galette was filled with a stew and topped with pickled fennel and shallots. The item on the right was an ube oatmeal cream pie that was bordering on too decadent and the ube buttercream looked like something out of willy wonka.

Matcha black sesame mochi from Onggi.
There's also a kimchi corn cheese soufflé and a miso scallion scone with chili crisp butter. All excellent.

Focaccia with potatoes, leeks, radicchio, and scamorza. This and the bun are from Brooklyn Granary and Mill. They source locally grown wheat which is then milled on site.

Face-sized chocolate chip cookie from Hani's, a hyped bakery at Cooper Square that is definitely best visited on a random weekday.

Self-care with some pastries from Librae, a Bahraini inspired bakery (their words) near the aforementioned Hani's. Including the first pic because I really like the design.

Feta dill scone, halva chocolate croissant, cheese pretzel, greens and pine nut pastry. There was also an everything pretzel but that didn't make it back to Jersey.

I saw that when looking up who St. Joseph was. Here Zeppole are just deep fried dough balls tossed with powdered sugar. Like an Italian beignet.
I would not be surprised if the term zeppole as I know it only applies in RI. It’s an odd place. Regardless, I’m going to be asking some locals that take their Italian heritage too seriously about this pastry and its origins and name

Since I slept from about 9 pm - 8 am (and also a 5-8pm nap) yesterday, I got down to the Panaderya at a reasonable enough hour (10) to pick up everything before it sold out.

Malunggay and fig croissant
Rambutan and pineapple cake
Chicken sisig danish (making this rare poultry exception because they never really have anything savory that isn't pork or beef)

This place is also in my Top 5 JC bakery list.
