Reports that both the Rays and Astros were interested in Encarnacion. The Yankees trading for him might be about keeping him off either of those rosters as much (or more) as it is about improving their own. I could see them trying to flip him to a NL contender at the deadline. He's played a lot more games at 1B than he's DH'ed which I didn't realize. That might be more b/c of Vogelbach, Although, I just peeked, and barring injury, the NL contenders are all pretty stacked at 1B.
Should be interesting.

Tanaka threw a complete game shutout against the Rays. I'm very confused.

Also, someone needs to explain to me how the CWS works now that Michigan is doing well and I might pay a little attention.

It opens with a double elimination four-team tournament. Michigan is the current 1-seed with 2 wins and no losses. Arkansas is out with two losses. Texas Tech and Florida State each have one loss. Michigan will have two games to win one against the winner between TT and FSU.

Whichever team emerges from that mini-series without two total losses gets a bid in the championship series, which is a straight best of 3 against the winner of the other four-team tournament.

It gets a lot more complex in previous stages. It's a wild tournament!

lol, are you kidding me with this tweet?
