This is Anders Erickson's version of the Belmont Jewel, or as I have been calling it "The Belmont Jewels" in my Chicago meatball accent. From his latest Porch Pounder episode.
It was a bit dry/sour for us by his specs, but a barspoon of semi-rich simple did the trick.
He used a bonded OGD, so I split the difference with a rye and wheater.
I can't say that whiskey is my spirit of choice for pounding cocktails on the porch, but definitely enjoying this one.
