Let's All Go to the Movies

Do you not have a Kubrick set?
Noooo of course not. *hides every film already released on 4K, Blu-ray, DVD, and at least 2 on Laserdisc*

Kubrick in particular is that one director it seems I can never hear enough about. I'm a sucker for any behind the scenes material because he kept almost nothing from his productions (and he supposedly burned every piece of film he shot besides the final master). Own several books on the subject too.

A lot of folks are the same way about Spielberg. They've already bought 3 releases of Jurassic Park on 4K for minimal upgrades (I'm not even kidding... the first one had bad audio/video, 2nd one fixed the video but not the audio, recently was released with new Dolby Atmos to fix the audio)

You, whoever wrote the Deep popcorn bucket gag and everyone who laughed at it.
Believe it or not someone released that as a 3D print.

If you can 3D print it yourself for less than $5 I approve of dumb popcorn buckets lol

I was just seeing people queuing today for a Toy Story 5 bucket for $55 that’s an exact copy of the Buzz Lightyear toy and box…. But smaller and no electronics.

I bought my son the exact Buzz Lightyear in the movies this month. Laser arm. LED lights on the pop out wings. Electronic voice box. Movie accurate from Disney. Same box Andy gets. $40.

Popcorn buckets are dumb.

As someone who brings food into theaters and won't buy much but a proper meal in a fancy spot, or a few beers in the best spots, I think most all movie food s a racket. Popcorn being #2 after soda. It's all pretty stupid to me, but not important enough to really care.

But collectors and franchise stans gonna buy. So if they are limited enough, and the makers aren't arrogant enough to truly mass produce, I don't give a fuck. Let the goofy market goofy market. As long as we don't make more plastic trash than desired I'm good with it.

Tonight”s 3 Day weekend movie … Dante’s Peak is better than you remember.

I literally think this might be the hard point between physical fx and CGI. This movie had the best physical special effects.
