Iced Tea - The Pinnacle of Refreshment

Is this where we talk about President T or Melania T?

So this is how my tea comes out. 4-5 grams of tung ting oolong leaves. As mentioned earlier, I do about 4 hot quick steeps with about 100 ml of water at 208° for the day/afternoon. Then I bring 1 liter of water + the tea leaves to a boil, transfer to this container, cool at room temp, then throw in the fridge overnight. Super refreshing and doesn't need any sugar. The leaves can get pretty expensive so I try to opt for the mid-grade stuff, which is fine for my current budget.

While the Arizon green tea is pretty tasty & a good value, Honest makes one with half the calories per 8 ounce serving. Also tasty.

Yeah, that one is way better than the Arizona one IMO. The sweetness tastes less...artificial.

Surprised the debate hasn't come up yet.

What some asks if you want "iced tea", do you expect it sweetened or unsweetened?

Growing up in Chicago I always associated iced tea as sweetened tea. But any time going south of 41[SUP]o[/SUP]N (basically south of Chicagoland) "tea" is unsweetened iced tea. Is this a regional thing? geographical?

Really? I always get asked “sweetened or unsweetened” here. But I tend to order Arnold Palmers at the end of the day because unless I am gettin Sweet Tea, I really only want lightly sweetened and Arnold Palmers do the job.

The other day I was at a restaurant in Brooklyn where I ordered iced tea and they said "our iced tea is pre-sweetened is that okay?" and I canceled my whole order, spat on the ground, and left the restaurant. ordered water instead.

At least in the part of Texas I'm from, there's sweetener on every restaurant table but the tea comes out unsweetened. I don't add any sweetener so I definitely don't want any already in there.

My typical experience is unsweetened, but they ask if you want sweetener (which I always refuse). The worst is when you order iced tea thinking it's unsweetened and some sweetened Nestea or Brisk garbage arrives.

The south is tricky because of sweet tea - whenever I'm in the south, I always make sure to explicitly order unsweetened.

I like sweet tea. I hate the fake lemon in Brisk.
