Sounds like I’ll be flying into Denver and immediately driving up to Breckenridge for the 4th of July and my father-in-law’s 75th birthday. Any recommendations on food, beer, etc.? I’d love to hit Bierstadt before leaving Denver but not sure if that’s gonna happen.
It all depends on what your driving plans are going to be. You'll pass through Denver coming from the airport so can easily just turn off and get a drink somewhere without too much issue but it will still take time. I don't know Breck well so can't suggest anything there but sounds like R1pps knows it a bit. If you just want to hit Bierstadt in Denver, there's usually plenty of parking in their lot which helps.

I’ll be with my wife’s parents and her sister and her family so it’s really not want I want to do, but I’m just hopeful that lagers and German food sound good to them. Otherwise we’re going straight out of town. My wife has already said “lower your expectations and don’t put any hope on going to Bierstadt.” At least Breckenridge and the area around appears to have good stuff.

oh yeah I get it. It's always a balance when you aren't traveling alone. And yeah there's plenty up in the mountains. Pretty sure Outer Range isn't too far from Breck.

edit: Which, let me say about Outer Range. The IPAs are really good but I have found most of their other stuff to be kind of mediocre. Something to be aware of if you are going with anyone that doesn't like IPAs, a problem I have whenever I'm with my wife.

Follow up to my initial post. We’ll be in Breckenridge for 4th of July weekend as a surprise birthday trip for my father in law’s 75th. My MIL wants the whole family to go out for a fancy “moderately expensive”dinner so I’ve started looking at places. Any suggestions?
