I got a ceramic one years ago and only use the stainless steel one when I take it on vacation.I got the new Kalita MINO dripper for Christmas. Feels like a nice upgrade over my old stainless steel Wave dripper. Definitely getting a better bloom.
Definitely a bit different and it looks like th holes are larger which would affect timing. I remember years ago a friend who owned a specialty coffee cafe and is a roaster told me how he drilled into the kalita holes to make them larger.Kalita changed the design of the bottom of the dripper in the MINO. They seemed to think it was worth the change.
Maybe ceramic produces a better cup of coffee, maybe the new design makes a difference, or maybe both.

Only use my AP for travel. Just had this dopey filter holder fall to the floor and send filters all over the place. Now looking for a sub. That can lid trick is pretty cool Dave .

It’s not great for travel, but works fine at home to hold my filters.

Yea I’ve been aeropressing for many years and have used metal almost exclusively. I’m sure people will profess the benefits of paper, but metal works for my tastes and is great for travel. I have an Able disk, but there are many others out there.
Do you use a hand grinder? Wondering if I would need to dial the grind in.
