Looking around for Punt e Mes cocktails and stumbled on this one. Rich. Herbal. Bitter.

Le Bateleur
2oz gin
0.75 oz Punt e Mes
0.5oz Strega
0.25oz Cynar
Dash Ango

Supposed to be strained into a nick and nora but I need the cube for long, cold sipping.

Not one for commercial mixers but when you spot a deal, you need to try. Supposedly this is $17 retail. Went with a equal parts bourbon smash. OK but needs an add, too sweet. Maybe more bourbon, maybe lemon, maybe bitters. I'll play around.

This is Anders Erickson's version of the Belmont Jewel, or as I have been calling it "The Belmont Jewels" in my Chicago meatball accent. From his latest Porch Pounder episode.

It was a bit dry/sour for us by his specs, but a barspoon of semi-rich simple did the trick.

He used a bonded OGD, so I split the difference with a rye and wheater.

I can't say that whiskey is my spirit of choice for pounding cocktails on the porch, but definitely enjoying this one.

It's sweet, borders on being tiki. Nice flavors.

Saturn Cocktail

Purposely bought the passion fruit liqueur for this. Great tropical vibes. Will get much use from the passion fuit this Summer

Smoked maple old fashioned. Don’t have a cocktail smoking kit, so just torched a small piece of cherry wood. Bangs. Thanks to Beerologist for the maple liqueur

It's a good kick to be on. Been doing the same since Friday (albeit with a day off yesterday).

• 2 ounces reposado tequila
• 1 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
• 3/4 ounce Yellow Chartreuse
• 1 dash Orange Bitters
