i guess the question should’ve been “what do I do with 750ml of mead I don’t really want to drink?” The only person I know who might want it is the one who got it for me in the first place. I figured the berry profile would do well with cocktails. But I forgot that this one is actually pretty dry, so I think it will work better as a refreshing summer cooler.

Had some lovely meads with friends this weekend and one bottle that was most definitely corked (drink enough things sealed with corks and you run across it from time to time - it’s not the most terrible flavor but also not i e you forget easily).
I love Schramm’s Blackberry. I love it more as a Blackberry Lemonade. Yesterday I was cutting it with lemon sparkling water but it works with the lemon beverage of your choosing.
Leheua honey is such a nice tropical flavor. Fruity and floral while not being defined by sweetness. I had picked up a bottle of the dry, but a friend opened a bottle of the sweet and it was nice to compare how the honey showcases different in the two. I have been enjoying the trads from Second City.
Front drink is a version of The Ernesto with tequila, apricot liqueur and Grapefruit mead. Back drink is a strawberry lemonade session mead. I am too spoiled having this place 15 minutes away.

A meadery about an hour from us is now doing wine pouches to go. I am fucking pumped. I used to ask for these all the time but since canning mead got more popular I really only ask Standard Mead to bagnum their Watermelon (and Watermelon lemonade) session. Fuccckkk yeasss. They announced it with pickleback mead. Happy Independence Day to me.

Trying to make an effort to open “special” bottles and this did not disappoint. Very cherry forward but still rich and a nice deep lingering finish.

Black Agnes is probably their most popular but on the acidic side. Personally I prefer Blackberry or Statement depending on my mood. Start with one of those and see how you like it. I actually spent a good chunk of Friday and Saturday with James Naeger from Schramm’s while you were busy being wherever you were.
