Whisk(e)y

Haven’t bought whiskey in a while, but my local had EHT Barrel Proof today for $150 and I debated. I feel like that’s a good deal? Haven’t seen it here in ages….

It's not a bad deal if you can afford it. I bought the only one I've seen for $115 ish, but I really like the whiskey inside, so I'd probably pull that trigger again for a slight premium.

This is delicious, but I think a bit pricey for Heaven Hill's BiB offerings. Is a wheater really worth an extra $30 over the HH BiB bourbon with the same age statement?

I guess the market will decide.

I was happy to find a bottle after months of it selling out immediately in my local area. I will happily finish this bottle, but probably won't seek it out again at this price point.

Definitely would buy a Rare Breed of HH BiB around $50 over this at $70.

Howdy! Hadn’t really been buying much out there these days, but came across this while grabbing some forteleza from my “honey hole” store.

Batch 2 is good stuff, not sure this one wows me like batch 1 but maybe that’s just expectations. Not as sweet or fruity, and does have a touch of the banana that usually gets out with some age on it.

Chose to pay the pour price to try in case a bottle tempts me at $250. Nose is warm and rich but pretty hot. Dark fruits, spice, Carmel and charred oak. It's tasty, but, and I seem to be in the minority, I think OF 1924 is as good for half the price.

Worth the try, glad I could try before a buy.

I agree, tasty, but not at all worth $250 for me.

I agree. It’s not worth it at all. The shitlords are asking 2k for the 3 batch set too.. insanity given it’s only two years older than 1924 which is already kind of expensive for what it is, which is delicious but still!

If you find this for a reasonable price, close to retail, grab it. It’s really bright and fruit forward. Classic HH aged flavors with the seasoned oak and vanilla mingling with the red fruit. The higher proof is a difference maker to make it pop versus the 18yr.
