Now that I’m familiar with.

This is just the first time I’ve encountered a pressing where the max volume is very different than anything else we have. If max on everything else is a 10/10, the album in question is maybe a 6/10.

The January release is A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar by Dashboard Confessional which is my wife’s favorite album. It’s only been pressed twice and secondary is crazy high on it so I’ve been dragging my feet on getting it for her. It’s like 50 bucks for one month so I’ll probably just bite the bullet and do it.

Yeah, this. Not sure what the point of a subscription is if you can just do it for one month. An excuse to upcharge you? That's all I can come up with.

Most likely. I also think people buy the 3 month or 6 month to ensure they get the release’s coming up. I guess in theory there could have been 3K already signed up and there’d be no shot to get the Dashboard album. Apparently the Playboi Carti album sold out in minutes.

Wife and I’s tattoos are from that album so I’ll probably do it too. I already own the Urban Outfitters pressing but it’s umm… not a great pressing.

Gotta say this one is fantastic. Just landed today.

this could be a fun exercise.. what’s the most you spent on *one* album (ie not a box set). I’d have to give it a good think, but mine is probably around $80. I’d have to thumb through and try to remember what I’ve spent.

$157 on Lily Allen - Alright Still (first pressing) for my wife for Christmas. Paid for shipping from Amsterdam as well.

I'm sorry.

To be fair it is one of my favorites. Was only pressed once, doesn’t move often and my copy is near mint. If I lost anything on the purchase, I made it back flipping my extra copy of Snowed In. Most of my regrets are the midpriced things that I only sometimes listen to.

Don't remember exact figure because this was about 20 years ago at this point, but I think somewhere in the $200-300 range for an original pressing of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Only others I can think that I splurged on were $85 for The Dresden Dolls self titled album and somewhere in the $50-100 range for an OG pressing of Misfits Earth A.D / Wolfs Blood and orange cover Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.
