Need advice.

According to discogs I haven’t been active since 2023.

I have bought hundreds of albums since then.

How do I get caught up?

When I first catalogued, it took me a year with less than a thousand records.

I think I’m just done with keeping track of shit. I think?

You could try putting a laptop and a steady supply of belgians in front of me. That's what I did when I first signed up and somehow all the albums were entered by the end of the day.

Cataloging from the start is the absolute best advice I’ve received since I started buying records. Having to catch up really would have sucked.

I usually ignore the Amazon items on r/VinylDeals but we needed to order something else that is difficult to otherwise obtain so I said “hey, see if this Sturgill record is still on there for this price” and it was. So here we are, two weeks later.

If I ever actually retire I'm going to delete the 2k+ in my current profile and start all over again. The current listed collection is miles of out of whack with what I own.

There's a barcode scanner feature in the app which might help a bit though.

I don’t log condition either. For me it’s just about remembering what we have at home when I’m out in the stores and whatnot.

exactly this. I have too many dupes lol. I also hadn’t catalogued anything until covid. twas a fun venture. I only did a couple hours a day after I got home from (essential) work so it took a while.

Cataloging helps avoid that.
