Is this good or bad?

Both? I'm sure this will allow all these brands to consolidate brewing operations and I assume lower their costs for ingredients & materials, which would be good. But also, if beer (and specifically Crux in this instance) was in a good place right now, this probably wouldn't even be a consideration.

As far as the Columbia/Point Blank thing, I don't know that it'll have much of an impact on these brands. Most (including Crux) are already with Columbia. And they're all more mainstream grocery/convenience store brands, which Columbia focuses on more rather than on-premise stuff. I think the acquisition of PB by Columbia will mostly impact some already-struggling smaller brands and probably some (or maybe a lot) of the more niche imports that PB handles. Time will tell.

Claim 52 is opening their second location in the original Rogue pub in Newport. Interesting.

I’m glad it will remain a brewery/beer focused place.

I'm in Eugene for a few days (speaking at UO tomorrow then working on research) if anyone is around and wants to grab beers. Headed to the coast for the DeGarde anniversary party this weekend, where I know I'll see some of you.

I missed you last time, and now I am in Issaquah, Washington all week :(
