Real Golf

Sounds like LIV will soon be no more. While it would be great to have the top guys back on tour, it's not quite that simple. They may have to do a stint on the DP World Tour before earning back their tour cards. Talk of some guys even needing Q-school.

howdy! Since this post, my father has given me his set of clubs, so now they're mine. In the last 6 months, I've played 4 rounds, hit the driving range twice, hung out at Top Golf and set up a net in the backyard. I'm really enjoying the game. I've been a disc golfer for like 20 years, and always kind of enjoyed watching golf, as I grew up in the Tiger-Prime era.

I played a round last weekend and crushed with my driver and 3&5 woods. I think I hit 15/18 fairways. However, I have no clue what I'm doing with my 6-9 irons, wedges (though I'm ok out of the sand?!?) and putting. I hit GIR on 3 holes though. I had 2 natural bogeys. I hit the best shot of my life out of the trees, over the crik, between the sand traps and up on the green to putt for birdie on a par 5. 3 putted it, lol.

Anyway, I'm feeling a bit more confident about playing and I'm going out with a buddy this weekend.

There's no real reason of purpose for this post, just saying that I'm enjoying the game.

I guess I'll add this- Does anyone have a recommendation on an app or something that might be free or cheap that can help me work on my game from my net in the yard?
So I have now played golf like 10 of the last 13 or 14 weekends.

After 13 years of working at my corporate job, I finally got the opportunity to play in our charity golf tourney today. I got paired up with a couple beer reps that I've known for 15 years and my boss's husband.
I was easily the worst of the foursome. I've only been playing for like 3 months or so, so that doesn't bother me at all.
It was a scramble tournament. I started slow as fuck and didn't hit a solid shot for the first 3 holes. But I kind of hit my stride for a while and crushed a few drives, not long- but straight. I chipped better than I ever have (recently set up a little chipping practice with an upside down umbrella and a mat in the backyard). I only lost like 5 balls.
And most importantly, I contributed to the team. We used like 5 or six of my shots. I hit a 5 iron fat as fuck but rolled it up to like 5 feet from the pin at like 160 yards or so. I hit a putt from like 15 feet to save par for the team.

Golf is wild man. It's so fucking frustrating. I want to chuck my club into the woods and drive the cart into the lake and go down like the captain on the Titanic. But I always forget about that bullshit really quickly. I remember the really fucking awesome shots I made. There might have only been a handful or so, but that's enough to keep me coming back.

I've always been pretty decent at bowling, disc golf, billiards, poker, darts... but this might be my shit moving forward.

no matter how frustrated you get, there is always one shot that keeps you coming back for more!

this thing has completely changed my chipping game.
