LIV golf could be fun and enjoyable to watch. But it’s like watching the celebrities play at Tahoe.

I do feel like Brooks has basically admitted that had he not been hurt he’d have had a bigger internal debate about joining LIV. It also seems like of all the defectors, him and DJ are the two that the PGA members actually don’t care much about.

I’d say a vast majority of the PGA group would take Brooks and Cam smith back. They showed lots of love to them, the rest… meh.

It was somewhat noticeable that Brooks didn’t have ANY of his LIV team logos plastered all over him the way Reed, Phil and DJ did. Bubba to a lesser extent. Cam only had a very small sleeve logo I think. Telling consider Brooks is the team “owner/chief/whatever”

I thought the same thing. I mean he admittedly said that if he wasn’t hurt at the time he’s not sure he would have gone. I’m glad rahm won. I was pulling for him since he got close. Another great Masters in the books. I fucking love this time of year and this tournament. The fact that my wife gets just as excited as me makes it even better. Oak hill isn’t far away!
 
In Indiana the Masters nicely coincides with the weather being somewhat more conducive to playing golf here, typically. Always gets the juices flowing

When mine dies ( a nearly 10 year+) Bushnell V2 I’m gonna upgrade and get the magnet deal, but man I’m worried about leaving it stuck to the cart and leaving the club.


Atleast now I throw it on the console or cup holder and clean out like I have in years pasts.
 
At league last night, 514yd par 5, drove dead center with about 245yds left. Felt great. Our opponents weren’t that good, so they were shanking balls left and right. As I’m driving around helping them, I stab my hand on a pencil in the scorecard holder. For some stupid reason, I had an extra pencil and slid it into the holder pointy end out. As I steer the cart, my hand slides around the wheel and catches the pencil lead.

With a bloody hand, I decided to lay up. Pulled it into the trees, then put my approach into the water. Scored an 8. Felt great!
 
Nothing sums up golf better than my scorecard from a quick 9 yesterday evening :

3-4-3-2-7-8-2-5-4

That’s 4 birdies in a row, a triple, a quad, another birdie, bogey, birdie. Fucking 38 with 6 goddamn birdies. Doesn’t even seem possible but a way was found. No penalty strokes involved.

My 17 year old son beat me by one with 8 pars and a bogey.

6 birdies in 9 holes and lost $20 to someone with zero birdies.


Fuck golf.
 
I snuck out Friday and played with a buddy at lunch and holy fuck did we suck. Two birdies total, probably a million double bogeys. I couldn’t hit a wedge to save my life, he had this nasty pull all day until he didn’t and lost shit low right.


We stopped scoring at hole 11. Total trash.
 
I always start the year well and as season wears on my back and wrists become garbage and I’m reminded why my golf “career” never happened in the first place.


That and my inexplicable ability to totally forget how to play the game 4-5 holes per round.

I accepted that mid low singles was as good as I’d get without taking dedicated teaching lessons and putting a shit load of work in the game. I just suck ass at reading certain greens and atleast down here I often feigned ignorance when I would play courses with bent greens and then Bermuda greens.


But now as I age, the back and right knee start to bother me sometimes and that reverse pivot shows up when you get tired and everything goes to a timed swing and falls apart.
