Let's Remember Some Beers

When the hell did Logsdon go under? Looks like I haven’t had them since 2022. They had seemingly been underwhelming at the time but were fire back in the mid 2010s.

Best I can recall it was in the first half of 2023 or so. They were supposed to (or maybe did) open a location on Division in SE Portland, but had unspecified "issues" with the landlord and closed for good.

It's a bummer because not only were Peche n Brett and Seizoen Bretta awesome, but they had started brewing a clone of The Commons' legendary Urban Farmhouse called Urban Encore, and it was pretty spot-on. RIP.

Ooo where in Queens? "Lets remember some places i used to buy beer."
Beverage Plus in Floral Park, so not even a close part! Got the scoop from my Massapequa beer nerd friends. Not that Long Island got crazy distro but you could get the beers that made it there, as well as the city stuff, because it was on the border of Queens and Nassau.

They had a crazy good selection and it never sold out fast because, well, who's trekking out there?

Is ale apothecary around? I’m going Bend in a few weeks. Google says temporarily closed.

They're moving because the rent at their current spot was going up by a lot (shocking!). From what I've read, the new spot will just be production/barrel aging and there's no current plan to reopen a taproom. I'd have to imagine there are bottles to be had around town though.

I haven't had an AA beer since Paul Arney sold. It would be interesting to revisit.

Oh damn, when did it sell? Any rumors about quality change?

Bummer no taproom to visit. It was a real neat place when I went in 2022.

I looked it up and it was about 2 years ago. The new owners owned a (not great) brewery (Wolf Tree) on the Oregon coast but they kept the head brewer from when Paul owned it, who had worked there for years. Hopefully that means the quality has stayed the same but I honestly haven't heard anything about how it is now.

You should probably go to Funky Fauna and Terranaut while you're in Bend though.

Cool, we are in Sun River technically but I should be able to do a trip.

Wolf Tree is (was?) quite possibly the worst brewery in Oregon.
