Hockey

Thanks! My cousin basically decided he was done with hockey but now is rethinking it with the draft news. He did two different prep schools his last 2 years of high school and neither were great experiences. We’ll see what he decides.
If he makes the roster and wants to stick with the grind and delay going to college, definitely should get D3 looks. With the transfer portal being what it is and now CHL eligibility, lower end D1 just isn’t looking at lower tier Junior players they way they used.

If he’s still trying to chase the dream, it’s a good opportunity to play with starting the eligibility clock.

That’s one thing I should add….

If he was previously done with hockey before this draft news, my personal advice would be to have him really make sure he wants to do this. He may be happier playing local hockey, going to college, and playing club (if available), then trying to hop back into the meat grinder.

But yeah as TerrorBerk said, the D1 landscape is so different now. When I was that age, the NAHL was just a hair below the USHL, and D1 rosters were filled with NAHL players.

Just the thing about him being previously done with hockey….does he really want this, or would it be better to “get on with it.”
