Islanders fired Roy with 4 games left in the season, as they’ve playing absolutely horridly and have seen their chances of making the playoffs plummet. Presumably the GM wanted to do this for a long time but Schaefer and Sorokin had them in unexpected postseason contention and it probably wouldn’t have gone over well with the team or fans.

It’s not a bad year to be in the 3-7 slot. McKenna isn’t Celibrini and comes with baggage.
Will be interesting to see if Sundin pushes Toronto to take Stenberg at 1.

I doubt Sundin will have much if any impact on decisions. He was definitely a “we hired this guy you like so please don’t hate us” hire. He has a made up job description.
