Everything STAR WARS thread

Hoping since this is at the beginning of the year there will also be theatrical re-releases of Empire and ROTJ in the Summer/Winter months.

I'd put money on Empire in March, ROTJ in April all leading up to Starfighter in May

Daaaaayum. This is better than 90% of what Lucasfilm has done for the last decade.

This is made with photoshop and AI by a single guy on a computer from what I understand. Looks incredible.

The thing I can say about Filoni is that he is absolutely passionate about SW. Yes, he is sort of obsessed with a certain era of SW and that might hurt SW overall - but he's not some dipshit who just wants to churn out fuckloads of garbage to make money. He needs someone to kind of rein him in a bit, and he needs to sort of "let go" and let creatives do COOL SHIT - but his passion isn't a detriment.

I worked on a SW game, I've met him, I've been up to the campus in SF. He's a good dude and I wish him luck.

SW is gonna flame out hard with Filoni at the helm. I love the cartoons but guy doesn't have the juice for live action. On top of that it feels like he's gonna try and be Feige-esque and have his hands in everything. Give talent the means to play in the sandbox and get the fuck out of the way. Also no more Skywalker shit. Give me the Patty Jenkins Rogue Squadron movie. Top Gun Star Wars sounds like fun

Trash take. Kanan Jarrus has one of the best stories of any SW characters and is a non-skywalker, post Clone Wars character. Did bro even watch Rebels?
The exception doesn't invalidate the premise - and only highlights that Filoni can tell good stories but, of late, has elected to not to. Priotizing lore over storytelling is shortsighted and dull.

That said, if he helps put out good shit, great! I envy him for being a super fan that worked under Lucas for a bit and is now (I assume) getting to do his dream job. I'm really not sold, though, that we'll see good stories come from all this.

He needs to manage other creatives and keep his shit in one series. He could easily go hog wild.

If the entire universe becomes Clone Wars/Rebels in live action I'm going to be extremely fucking annoyed... however I don't think that's what will happen.

Lightsabers?

The fuck? Have I not been paying enough attention to this film I thought we were doing Starfighters not Jedis.

It's a Lone Wolf and Cub story set five years after Episode IX. Matt Smith and Mia Goth hunting down a kid. My guess is he's Force sensitive and they're Dark-Siders probably some remnants of Inquisitors hunting him. Then I imagine we find out Gosling can wield a saber for some reason and there's your LS fight. He's probably someone from Luke's new Jedi group or something. Someone that Ren didn't slaughter. Maybe he's a reformed Knight of Ren and Smith/Goth are former Knights of Ren hunting down FS people

God that sounds... terrible. I was hoping for what is probably Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron in my head.

We already doing Lone Wolf and Cub on Mando AND Knight of the Seven Kingdoms this year.

Ah well let 'em cook. Gosling doesn't usually do bad stuff.
