Hey y’all - OGs may remember me, but I won’t be offended if you don’t. I was mostly a lurker on BeerAdvocate at the time of the Purge, but I fell in love with the community that moved to TB and, now, DDT.

I dropped off here around the end of 2022 or early ‘23, I think. I quit booze in December ‘22. We had our first (and only) kid in January ‘23. I left my horrible Biglaw job when he was born. I worked for the federal government for a bit but, y’know, the fascism, and now I’m in the private sector. Basically, I’m in a way, way happier and healthier place than I was a few years ago, and I missed you all.

I’m also now in the Pittsburgh ‘burbs. We moved to my wife’s hometown, Sewickley, in 2024.

Let me know what I’ve missed.

After bold claims last year, Nathan will be attempting to drink 15 cask beers in one day for the annual Cask Passport event in PDX this Saturday. I will be DD'ing for him. If you're in town, join us! Otherwise, follow along in this thread for pictures of Underbergs, cask beer and one of our fearless leaders drunk off his ass. I'll post a loose itinerary here once I have it together.

Due to the new house’s setup, I don’t spin as much vinyl as I used to. Ironically, I have a much better system and setup than the old place, it’s just that it’s on the third floor, so there’s only intentional listening, not incidental.

I think yall might be just the positive pressure I need to get back in the habit.
