That is the shocking part, outside of it being a blown coverage and him being wide open, they should not have been throwing 30+ yds down the field.
Great game, great to see a new champ, amazing program change, I wish Mendoza just never spoke, but I turned off as soon as the game ended to avoid any interviews.

I think if Beck throws that ball to the pylon, it's a bang-bang play between the receiver and the safety for a game-winner. I just have no way of knowing if the receiver was supposed to run a different route.
The below quote from the WR accepts responsibility but at the same time, it does sound like he's trying to make an excuse for Beck under throwing that ball, no matter what the route was.
