Fleer Ultra was my favorite set as a kid. 97-2000 I opened a bunch.
Even pulled one of the first 1/1s ever out of a pack. Jason Giambi Masterpiece edition from 1999.

I assume someone around here knows about Magic the Gathering stuff. My uncle has quite a collection that I'll most likely be tasked with liquidating sometime soon. I haven't got a good look at anything yet, so I'm not sure what the age range, condition, or if there's anything valuable in there.
Here's what I'm working with:
There are some other smaller sets and some random stacks of cards not pictured. Any ideas on the best way to go about valuing this collection and/or selling it?
I took possession of my uncle's MtG collection on Sunday. I'm estimating somewhere between 8000-10,000 cards. Most appear to be in great condition.
He had a 3" thick pile of sleeve pages that were all '95-'98, separated by set and in alphabetical order.
This is one of the first ones I randomly looked up...
Then mrs coach found an app that scans/values cards. She loves doing mundane, repetitive tasks while watching Netflix. She scanned over 2700 cards yesterday. These were the best finds so far:
Plus a bunch that are in the $10-20 range, and there are a lot of those where he had multiple. For example, there was card valued at $15 and he had 12 of them. Lots more to go.
That’s a promising start. I started playing in ‘94 and quit about 2005 or so. I remember playing an Aluren combo deck at an extended pro tour qualifier and just missed top 8. Deck was fun as hell.
I’ve got no time for that shit now, but the nostalgia creeps on me. These old cards are worth some serious money now and as a result fakes seems to be rampant. Twenty years later and I regret selling my cards more than ever.

And grading might be a good option for a few of those. I can help out with tips if needed.
Man, I love sorting cards. Must be some sort of ADHD thing. I have mine all sorted by set, then color. I have dividers with printed labels. I should just buy bulk on the cheap lol
I need to go through my cards way more frequently than I do. Saw the Lotus Petal in the picture, shocked to see it is around $40 now and sure enough, I had a couple sitting in a binder, and not in toploaders. Also have a playset of Rhystic Study in there that has shot up to around $50 per apparently. Fortunately still have plenty of unused penny sleeves, but could only find three toploaders.
Keep updating with everything else you find. Seeing some of those cards is really taking me back.

This is the score of the day so far. Corner looks a little rough though. Ordering more top loaders & penny sleeves tonight. I bought 100 of each and we ran out

They're 2-player starter decks. A little research on the Norwood Ranger leads me to believe these are 9th edition, but that's just a guess. The idea was they are fully seeded (hence the do not shuffle) to help very new players learn how to play by having a starting hand that would allow you to be guided how to play by having the "right' cards" at the start.
I don't think they're worth much, but you should be able to find out a bit more knowing they're starter decks.

FWIW, I do believe they were official releases in that format, especially as the Octopus was part of a subset of additional cards that weren't actually released as part of the set but were included in these precons. You can tell this from the collector number, S3/7 instead of the normal xxx/350 that you would find on cards that were part of the set.

80 cent senbei crackers and a baseball card.
Finally opened the card pack and got my favorite NPB player.
Also, Japanese baseball card packs are very very hard to find. I was told they’d be at Don Quixote stores and conbinis but never saw them. Only ever saw the Calbee potato chips and Bandai rice crackers with a card.
