Casual Lambic Thread

I very casually just strolled into Torst, having only remembered yesterday that today is Zwanze Day and they are hosting an event. I’m going to a concert around the corner so I figured I’d see what they have left. Turns out they have everything left. So, that’s fun.

Artemis La Blanche is very nice. I don’t mess with a lot of lambic these days but I am enjoying this one.

Edit: The Artemis La Rouge is also very nice.

15 bottle blind tasting at Moeder Original. Theme was vegetables and botanicals. The first set of 4 were all rhubarb - 2 different Nath, a Raspoetin from Bofkont, and a 3F. Fun trying to determine brewery and age. This was our warm up before the main event. The next 8 were all presented together and then the remaining 3.

3 bottles really stood out as highlights for me. Cantillon Génépi (no labels, 69 total bottles), 2010 Cantillon Asperule Odorante, and Cantillon Initiale B&B. The Génépi had some Mamouche vibes which I really enjoyed. The Asperule had by far the strongest nose of anything we tasted, even after 16 years. The B&B is a personal favorite that I didn’t think I would get to taste again.
