I didn’t. We processed our deer today and had a little ground left over but no fat. It was a little dry and the seasoning was off as well. What type of fat would you recommend?Put fat in them? Never tried a loaf because I figured it’d be dry af.

Whenever I’ve done sausage, we mix in pork fat, so I’d probably do the same.I didn’t. We processed our deer today and had a little ground left over but no fat. It was a little dry and the seasoning was off as well. What type of fat would you recommend?
How do you typically hunt for those? Tree stand?
I killed this one while deer hunting from a ground blind. They were particularly bad last year, got several in that manner. We also trap and a few times a year do a run and gun with dogs. How do you typically hunt for those? Tree stand?
Also pretty tasty when cleaned and cooked properly. Nothing beats free high quality meat!I have read about how invasive they are. Seems like a good situation for baiting and trapping.
Deer steaks for the holiday meal. These were cut off the back hams instead of the usual backstrap. Little tougher than the backstrap but still a great dinner. Kicking myself for grinding these into ground the last couple of years.
