All Things Coffee

I'm using around 105g for ~1000ml (33oz) of water. I let it steep for about 18-20 hours and then split it into two ball jars that I can grab quickly in the morning before hopping in the car. Pretty happy with how it turns out.
Damn, that’s a lot of beans. Thought mine was pretty strong as is.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a sub $200 home espresso maker?
Right before I ended up buying an espresso machine I looked and looked. It is one of those things where you will want to save some more for one. I finally decided on the Breville Barista Express ($600) and have used it almost everyday for 5 years. Thing runs like a champ. It's also at the lower end of pricing for what you get. The cheaper you go the more likely it will break or not do what you want once you figure it out.

^ I really enjoyed Amaya beans when I was in Houston. They ship but I haven’t ordered any since moving.

I was looking at the Kaldi roasters. Anyone have one or heard anything about them? Looking to move on from using a whirly pop to roast.

A new coffee place opened near where I live, and in addition to the usual fancy coffee shop stuff, they have this menu:

I haven't had the Husky, Vincent Vega, or Mayan Chocolate yet, but have had everything else. Also, they started making the Bee's Knees with Spindrift instead of La Croix a few days after this picture was taken.

The only thing I haven't loved so far is the Cold Fashioned, but I think the person that made it may have fucked it up, so I am going to try it again at some point. The Bee's Knees and the West Side Story are especially good.

Since the other site is dead, I thought i would cross post.

As a beer nerd who has spent too much on fermented grain water in the past I should not pass judgment... But damn that seems ridiculous. Please let me know why I am wrong.

Glad to see Mraz getting a job.

He played a bunch of events with Hanson this year. Please do not give them ideas.

Supply and demand(?) at this point. I'm sure there will be more California grown coffee in the future.

I just harvested, roasted, and drank some of the coffee from our one tree that is producing cherry. Way rarer than Mraz's coffee! ;)
