For anyone who missed it, there was a basebrawl last night between the Angels and Braves. The most impressive part of it all being 62 year old Walt Weiss form tackling 6'3" 235 pound Jorge Soler at the 30 second mark.

So… the Astros might be good.

Worst record in baseball, baby!
Your expected record is 6-7 if that makes you feel better. Also only -2 run diff, so clearly they've been losing a lot of close games which will even out.

Toronto seems even more on the ropes. They're 5-7 with a -22 run diff (second worst in baseball) and they have a mountain of injuries. They've also played the A's, Rox, White Sox and Dodgers so far, which is obviously very soft outside of the Dodgers series in which they actually did manage to pick up a win.

I’m doing fine, pretty chill about it all honestly. We’ve lost a crazy number of one run games already with solid pitching but absolutely pathetic offense. If it weren’t for Cole Young and Brendan Donovan I don’t think we’d even have four wins. Cal, Julio and Naylor have been terrible so far. Swing speed and hard hit rate way down, strike outs way up.

This realistically can’t continue, but if it does… oooof.

Acuna is slashing .204/.310/.265 (!) so far. Baseball can be a cruel, cruel game, especially in small samples. Those guys are too talented for that to continue.

Here's my rankings that nobody asked for
  1. Baltimore - You don't see that shade of green too often. Great callbacks to Camden. Love BMore.
  2. Royals - I think the gradient looks dope, but it's hard to top their first CC. I thought that was really sharp.
  3. Pirates - Yarrr. Love the bucco on the hat. First ones were ass, so this is cool.
  4. Atlanta - It's sort of... safe? Bland? But I love powder blue anything.
  5. San Diego - I like the theme, but the execution is lacking. Why use the same wordmark as the first ones? It's lazy. Still buying it tho
  6. Reds - It's just a variant of their first one. Boring.
  7. Wisco - Do people actually say Wisco? If they do, they should stop. Brew Crew was better.
  8. Texas - These look like the jerseys your community college wears. Fucking awful.

Atlanta seems unwilling to take any chances with theirs. Just like their first City Connect's were a nod to the 70s era uniforms, these are the same thing but just moving up to the 80s. I like them, but they're definitely very safe.

Can you imagine if the Yankees ever agreed to one? They’d be even less creative than the Dodgers’ attempt.

Didn’t we have a worse record at this point last year?
