Streaming is the hotness.

Disney pulled all their channels from YouTube TV Thursday night. So that means no ESPN/ABC college football today and possibly no MNF if they don't reach a deal, and it sounds like they won't.

I just want to say fuck both of those corporate behemoths in the ear. I hate that we consumers have no recourse. They don't even care if we cancel. And bootlegging is possible, but it's kind of a pain in the ass.

The enshittification continues unabated.
I mean, that's not enshittificationat all? These contract negotiations have been issues for cable's lifetime. Every service deals with them differently. Youtube's problem is that without tiers they have no way to deal with the cost going up to carry a network. They just have to eat the difference until they can raise prices.

enshittification would be adding in tiers at this point and moving the network there for a reasonably higher price.

Trying to find a movie has become the most miserable experience. I either watch the same handful of movies over and over again or doomscroll until I get tired and quit. I normally do the latter. Anything I really want to watch I have to pay for.
That's why I still buy physical media for movies. I find if there's no skin in the game I never get around to watching anything.

First 2 episodes of Pluribus seem good. Honestly regardless of where this thing goes it’s absolutely perfect for Rhea Seehorn who the role was perfectly written for. She’ll get an Emmy nom for this for sure.

Interested to see where this goes. This kinda story seems almost tailored for my likes. It’s basically Night of the Living Dead and The World’s End meets LOST.

I finished the first season of The Lowdown over the weekend, which I thought was great. The Peter Dinklage episode was a standout in particular.

The first two episodes of Pluribus have me hooked. Cool concept and Rhea Seehorn is killing it.
I went in expecting Ethan Hawke to play an eccentric man well and Sterlin Harjo to tell an engaging Oklahoma story. The collaborators involved with writing and directing made it really outstanding.

Agree that the two Macon Blair eps are my favorite.

My wife wants to go back and start again from s1 to remember wtf was all going on.

Is there a way I can set netflix to like 1.7x playback speed?

Goddamn.

I did a full rewatch recently during a couple camping trips. Obviously i'm a bigger fan than most, particularly in this asshole of the internet, but I would recommend it. I think seasons 1 & 4 are the most obvious, but honestly, I think the Mind Flayer from season 2 will be a featured role in the wrap up. If you've got about 40 hours or so to dedicate to it, I dunno- you should?
