Drank a surlie label saison over the weekend that was fresh from etre.
It was not bad.
It was not good.
I just dont know what to think anymore. The sparkle is gone, i feel dead on the inside.
Will likely open a vintage bottle this weekend to refresh my spirit and fuel the hope that age will positively influence all the releases of the last several years.

I'm still optimistic enough that I loaded up a box o' Tomes on Etre this morning despite being broke AF. Gonna have to drink a couple old boys in the coming days to make room. Been itching to open a couple of the recent Sante's, but I've been holding out for this new one.

Everybody don't go buying them all up yet. My Credit Card was stole last weekend so I'm without a CC until the bank snail-mails me a new card.Etre posted 3 new ghosts today.

Thus unable to purchase.... yet.
A questionably large foreign transaction as my first use of a new CC won't raise any fraud alert flags.

Cant speak for how a single credit card owner lost their card but in my case, if I lose one card, I lose them all - as all 2 of them are stuck in the same space in my wallet. Do people carry multiple credit cards in different places?
Who even relies on a credit card when paypal is an option?
Im sure if you are worried about missing out you could email the guys stating your situation and they would hold you some.
For clarification I didn’t lose the physical card. My CC # was lifted somehow. I got a call from my bank saying there was a $2.12 charge in Vermont. I live in Chicago and haven’t visited VT in years.
Sounds like someone testing to see if a charge would go unnoticed. Thankfully my bank called, froze/cancelled the card, and now I have the task of figuring out all the autopay stuff that old CC# was attached to.

My first credit card was an Amazon Prime card. Later, when I started traveling more, I got a Barclaycard since it has excellent travel benefits (and higher % cash back). There’s no point in cancelling my Amazon card since it lowers my credit utilization rate and extends my credit history, so I just keep the card at home in case I lose my Barclaycard while out and about.
My card info was stolen so AMEX sent me a new card but let me keep my Autopay.

Split this Triple Gourmet w a buddy earlier this week. Aroma of rotting banana peels, harsh booze and a noticeable maltiness. No "funk" of any kind. I really struggled to get through my half of the bottle and by the end my face was red and I was feeling mighty fine. So if anything it will get you drunk. On the other hand my friend though it was great. Curious to see what other people think of this bottle.

Drank 4 of the recent releases and all I can say is this is depressing. I love Fantome but the magic is gone. In the past, when a new Tome was released I would buy 4-6 of them to drink one immediately and then have extras to enjoy and witness its evolution over time.
All 4 of these are, in my opinion, not worth buying again. As we have seen the last several years they have a very plain, cookie cutter yeast profile with minimal complexity. I dont want to comment on lack of “house profile” as these are too young to show that yet but im still waiting on beers that were released 2+ years ago to show me that which I love but believe is gone. I dont think there is any aging potential to these like the brews of the past. I would be thrilled to be proved wrong.

A little more detail/description to the above post:
Rock the Farmhouse is easily the best “hoppy” beer Fantome has ever done. Having said that, the hoppy/bitter Fantomes have always been my least favorite. The hops in this are pungent in the nose and flavor but without too much bitterness. There is a certain fruited aspect to it though that makes me think they augmented the hops so to speak by also adding some fruit. What fruit exactly I dont know but its there with a residual sweetness. It was also explosively carbonated as you can tell from the picture as the suds escaped the bottle even after pouring a glass. The excessive carbonation left a carbonic bite/aftertaste of minerals that did not dissipate.
The didler/brick tome was kinda like how the recent classic saisons have been but the alcohol is tempered a bit. Dry and peppery with distinct clean yeastiness and a bit of a bitter grassy finish.
The burning sky collab was in the same vein as the brick beer. Dry, grassy and peppery.
The fermented form collab cocoa ambre is a little different. Not as bitter but excessively carbonated leaving that lasting mineral character that doesnt go away. It also has some more spiced character and mild fruitiness that I cant quite put my finger on.
