by Chatfield, you also have Roxbourough State park which has some really nice hikes.First year I paid the $80 and my car clunked out literally two months later. I scraped it off my windshield and taped to my new car. Every year since, I’ve gotten the $120. We can bounce it between our three cars and (more importantly) use it on friends rental cars when they come into town and we force them to drive.
It’s well worth it. In the metro you have Golden Gate, Eldorado Canyon, Cherry Creek, and Chatfield. Just a bit of a drive up 285 is Staunton and that is one hell of fun park to hike.
Also, Water Canyon is between Chatfield and Roxborough. Its the start of the Colorado Trail, easy hike for the first 6 miles or so then it gets steep and woodsy.
