Real Golf

Low 90s today and walked 18. My partner I've been walking with this winter/spring I believe is gonna start riding after this week due to heat.

I've really enjoyed the exercise and feel more connected to the game when I walk. With my 1990s Ping Hoofer bag that's perfect for it.

Wind was whipping like crazy today. This wide open links course plays so hard in the wind. Driver, 3w, still 60 yards to go on a par 4 into the wind, turn around and driver 8i into a par 5 after a 340 yard knock with a huge tailwind.

You know, I’ve always felt the same with regards to walking. You feel more involved in the round, you have time to see the shot, feel the shot, or piss and moan the previous. However I find I forget the bad, and atleast the courses I play, feel the ground and contour. I find I can shave 3-5 shots off when walking, and it’s not the beer. I don’t drink much, if any, when I play sometimes. Probably 7/10 don’t involve a beer.

walking is excellent and in many cases when it’s cart path only I always walk. I play faster than a cart in those instances.

Also I got pimento cheese made, texas toast for the splurge and I’m smoking a Georgia hog shoulder with peach wood and hickory I cut and split myself.

Might make peach ice cream and make the ice cream sandwiches they serve for Sunday. Those little fuckers are good. Should have bought a case of Stella for the real taste profile.

Should be sun and wind after this front rolls though. Hit us pretty good around noon, pretty outside now...

let’s see who can restart after a break, and see how can adjust to the moisture.

Zalatoris is a fucking BALLER. I am fully on his side for this weekend.

would be great to see Schauffele get it too, he’ll even Speith get back in form would be fun.

Book is offering a $76 cash out on my $20 Schauffele outright bet, which would cover all of my golf bets this week plus $16. Pays $500 if he wins though. Four shots back but he's in the final group. Tough call.

Stick to it. I think he hangs and pushes tomorrow. Matsuyama will go after it and, I just ain’t feeling it.

they are gonna slick it out tonight, course will heat up and his putter will force him to break it again.

I agree. I don’t think matsuyama is in the lead without the weather delay and the softener greens. If they keep the fans on tonight and cut and roll the greens like they normally do tomorrow, all those guys at -7 and around that have a chance.

Yup, I’m feeling like -11 or -12 tomorrow get it done. Admittedly if the weather holds, and wind stays down, then he might hold on if everyone pushes hard. Wouldn’t be out the idea of a playoff. Could get a squirt of rain tomorrow so I know they’ll run the subs tonight and cut somewhere around 4-5am and roll em.

If we get to -15 I’ll be very very surprised unless the weather helps.
Regardless it’s a crammed leaderboard, and big ass numbers are out there all week as we’ve seen.
